Matt Carey is the co-creator of the Carey and Coffey Show. Matt is a 9 year radio veteran with a knack for making fairly obvious yet slightly humorous observations about life, women, politics and NASCAR.

Carey began his radio career in 1996 working for the #1 Rock station in Fairfield County; The Home of Rock N' Roll…I95. Matt held many jobs working for Cumulus Media Danbury, including I95, B105, Y105, and 940/1510 ESPN Radio, where he held many different positions, including air-talent and promotions/marketing director. Searching for a change Matt left Cumulus in the winter of 2004 and continued his marketing career as marketing director for the Danbury Fair Mall, New England's largest shopping destination.

On a summer night while enjoying the relaxation of Coffey's hot tub, Coffey convinced Carey to get back into radio. The boys didn't know it, but they were now on a path that would lead them to the Carey and Coffey Show.

Carey returned to Cumulus Media Danbury as the afternoon drive host on Y105. A short while later the management of Cumulus Danbury decided to flip the format of their AM stations 940 WINE and 150 WPUT to all sports with ESPN Radio. Carey and Coffey instantly decided they wanted to do a sports talk show.

In August of 2005 the Carey and Coffey Show began. It became obvious relatively quickly that they didn't know enough about basketball, football, or care enough about hockey to host an all encompassing sports talk show. They decided to focus the show on Baseball and NASCAR. A few short months later, Baseball fell by the wayside and the Carey and Coffey Show started to carve out a real identity.

Capitalizing on the fact that there is no personality based NASCAR talk show on the radio, and that NASCAR is a sport experiencing tremendous growth and expansions, Carey and Coffey formed Carey and Coffey LLC with the goal of syndicating the Carey and Coffey Show on multiple radio stations across the country.

In the fall of 2006; Carey and Coffey LLC reached an agreement with Raleigh Media Group for syndication of the Carey and Coffey Show.

The Carey and Coffey Show can currently be heard on its first affiliates 940 and 1510 ESPN Radio in Danbury, CT. Additional affiliates will be added in the near future.

Matt Carey currently resides in New Fairfield, CT. He enjoys boating, cigars, golf, NASCAR and not wearing his pants. Matt Carey is a yuppie-redneck. The first "yupneck".
