Jay Coffey began his radio career 4 years ago as an intern at Cumulus Media Danbury in the promotions department. As an intern for I95 and Y105 Coffey swore he would never do on-air work and would always work behind the scenes as a producer. About a year later, Coffey found himself doing weekend air shifts on The Home of Rock n' Roll, I95. Carey and Coffey began hanging out and spending a good amount of time drinking beer on a boat on Candlewood lake or playing Bolo in Coffey's back yard.

Coffey began to feel comfortable on the air and find his groove just about the time the management of 940 WINE and 1510 WPUT decided to flip the format of their AM stations to ESPN Radio.

On a summer night while enjoying the relaxation of his hot tub, Coffey convinced Carey to get back into radio (Carey had left for a job outside of radio). The boys didn't know it, but they were now on a path that would lead them to the Carey and Coffey Show.

In August of 2005 the Carey and Coffey Show began. It became obvious relatively quickly that they didn't know enough about basketball, football, or care enough about hockey to host an all encompassing sports talk show. They decided to focus the show on Baseball and NASCAR. A few short months later, Baseball fell by the wayside and the Carey and Coffey Show started to carve out a real identity.

Capitalizing on the fact that there is no personality based NASCAR talk show on the radio, and that NASCAR is a sport experiencing tremendous growth and expansions, Carey and Coffey formed Carey and Coffey LLC with the goal of syndicating the Carey and Coffey Show on multiple radio stations across the country.

In the fall of 2006; Carey and Coffey LLC reached an agreement with Raleigh Media Group for syndication of the Carey and Coffey Show.

The Carey and Coffey Show can currently be heard on its first affiliates 940 and 1510 ESPN Radio in Danbury, CT. Additional affiliates will be added in the near future.

Prior to making the decision to plunge into radio Jay Coffey enjoyed a successful career selling men's suits and as a painter. He fondly recalls growing up a mile away from the Danbury Race Arena where, as a child, he would go every weekend to watch local modified drivers compete.

Jay Coffey resides in Brookfield, CT with his beautiful wife Kate. Jay enjoys boating (when he doesn't break his boat), drinking beer, 24, the Yankees, painting, bolo, watching NASCAR, redneck stuff, Matt Kenseth, and more beer.
