Dale Earnhardt Jr. forms company to produce Dale Jr. potato chips
Dale Earnhardt Jr has formed a partnership with Minnesota snack company KLN Family Brands to form Dale Jr. Foods. The Perham, Minn.-based company, which makes Barrel O’Fun snacks, will produce four Dale Jr. flavors: Crispy Original, Carolina Barbecue, Creole & Green Onion and Zesty Jalapeno.
KLN is a family-owned company and said in a news release that it strives to form relationships with groups that put family and community first, the Business Journal reported. Earnhardt is the son of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt and owns JR Motorsports with his sister, Kelley Earnhardt-Miller. Earnhardt’s team employees several family members and supports the racing efforts of his nieces.
Barrel O’Fun snacks are distributed predominately in the Midwest, but the Dale Jr. chips will be distributed nationwide beginning in February, the company said.
From Matt Carey:
Nothing says healthy like Diet Mt. Dew and Creole & Green Onion Potato Chips. What are Creole & Green Onion Potato Chips? What the check is Creole? Isn't that the stuff that builds up in fire places and causes chimney fires?
